About Us: DuctTesters by Dave Hegarty was established to further the goals and ideals that He has been involved with over the last several years. He recognized a tremendous disconnect between the developer/builders and contractors as related to T-24 compliance. He has been working to close that gap by training and educating within each of the industries so that all concerned parties can work together on common accomplishments. He has taken pride in helping each of the industry parties to understand what their contribution is and how it fits into the larger picture, now and for the future.
David B. Hegarty has been performing duct tests and other energy verifications since 1998, when he became involved in RCP Program (Residential Contractors Program). Since that time he has been certified by CHEERS (California Home Energy Efficiency Rating Services) in 2000 and has certified under all of the training classes offered by CHEERS. These training and certifications have included, New Residential Construction, Multi-Family, Train the Trainers, 2001 Energy Standards, 2005 T-24 Core, 2005 HVAC, and the 2005 Building Envelope Modules. In 2006 He will be participating in CBPCA’s (California Building Performance Contractors Association) training. He has trained and taught classes for contractors, developers, municipalities, and other jurisdictions.
He has been involved in both the HVAC and energy industries since 1997. He has worked as a manager of an HVAC contractor for years, including management of the sales and the installation crews. And he has also worked with wholesale equipment suppliers and manufacturers. All during this time he has been providing duct tests, energy verifications, training and consulting in both areas.
