Certified Energy Analysts (CEA)
We are proud to say DuctTesters has seven official Certified Energy Analysts (CEAs) on the team. A Certified Energy Analyst is a consultant that understands the California Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24, Part 6). They provide top quality and ethical energy consulting service. In order to qualify as a CEA, one must take and pass an exam. There are two types of CEA exams. There is an exam covering residential and one covering non-residential California Energy Standards. In addition, one must take part in professional practice workshops. The workshops are by California Association of Building Energy Consultants (CABEC). Another qualification is attending a minimum of nine hours per year of ongoing education. They must also have verified experience or other certifications related to Title 24 compliance work. CEAs commit to ongoing learning throughout their established consulting years to stay on top of cutting-edge industry training.
Why Use A CEA
Currently, the state does not regulate energy consultants. CABEC developed the CEA program for energy consultants to earn a certification as a designation and highly regarded expert within the energy consulting industry. CEAs have become a symbol to building departments, builders, architects, and homeowners. They are a knowledgeable professional and skilled energy consultant with extensive experience in Title 24 Part 6 in California. In more recent times, builder and homeowner incentive programs are requiring a CEA design and calculate the California Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24 Part 6) to qualify and receive the incentives. Take a look at the California Advanced Housing Program Handbook (CAHP). They encourage best practices in energy-efficiency, green building and sustainability by offering financial incentives.
